Public Health aims to prevent ill-health and focuses on supporting people to live longer healthier lives. This website, created and maintained by the Knowsley Public Health Team, provides trusted health information and details of local support services that can help you to make informed choices about your health.
Our services are delivered on behalf of the Council by a range of organisations offering prevention, treatment, and support for Knowsley residents to enable them to stay well and reduce their risk of poor health.
We also encourage self-care by providing brief information and advice and signposting to resources to support residents to improve their own health. This also includes promoting the importance of cancer screening and immunisations such as the Flu jab and other prevention initiatives such as the free NHS Health Check.
We work closely with a variety of public and private sector organisations, local GPs, NHS based organisations, local businesses, community and voluntary organisations to identify and support health needs. We also provide support to vulnerable settings including care homes and early years settings to help ensure residents are protected from infectious diseases, incidents and outbreaks.
