Changes in memory

Some changes in memory as we get older are normal. Your memory can be affected by tiredness, stress and certain medications.

Any memory loss can be frustrating but if you feel like you are becoming increasingly forgetful, and it is affecting your daily life, then speak to your GP. This is especially the case if you are over 65 years of age. 

  • Concentration and memory 

  • Language and communication, including word-finding and following and responding to conversations 

  • Planning, problem-solving and decision-making 

  • Finding your way in familiar places due to difficulties in orientation
